Burgoo – North Vancouver’s ULTIMATE Comfort Food

EmailLinkedInShare

Lower Lonsdale is filled with excellent restaurants, cozy cafes and cool bistros.  You could spend more than a month sampling the array of dining options, without ever visiting the same place.  But, I didn`t have to look much further than 68 steps from The Versatile Building Presentation Centre to be at one of my favourites – Burgoo.

Burgoo is great not only for it’s amazing food, but also for its atmosphere; go there in the evening and enjoy their home-styled cozy seating, with dim lighting and pretty candles.

Never been? For starters, if you love cheese as much as I do, definitely order the cheese fondue.  They have 3 different kinds, and they are all delicious so be sure to go hungry.  Depending which one you get, they come with either fresh cut pears, red apples, red grapes, and also a variety of fresh diced breads.

Going for lunch? My favourite is the Dos Diablos sandwich with a fresh cup of their crab bisque soup.  Always hits the spot especially in this cold weather.

And the best way to finish off a meal?  With a warm bowl of their Sticky Toffee Pudding.  You can thank me later.

Burgoo is located at 3 Lonsdale Ave in North Vancouver and is open daily at 11am for lunch.  You can check out their menu here.  Trust me – you’ll be glad that you did.
