The community centre opened its doors in the summer of 2004 comprising of four floors and over 35,000 square feet of amenity space. From a vibrant youth centre to a busy senior’s centre, you’ll find a diverse cross section of people and activities there. The John Braithwaite Community Centre also offers low cost programs and a choice of free programs for the diverse Lower Lonsdale community and could make for a fun way to meet your new neighbours.
For those of you who are gym-goers, the centre also has a well equipped fitness facility with everything you need including free weights stepmill’s, Cybex Arc Trainer, elliptical machines and Keiser indoor cycle bikes to name a few. Their fitness centre also includes consultations and personal training sessions if you really want to take your love of fitness to another level. There is also a gymnasium, a multi-purpose dance and fitness studio, community meeting rooms and offices, a kitchen, and a public-use computer area with ten work stations.
For only $397, adults can get a full access, one year membership; students pay only $298 for one year, so why wouldn’t you want to join? The community centre is located at 145 West 1st Street. Conveniently, only two blocks from The Versatile Building. Another good reason to buy a home.
